Chapter 2 the baton
Stephen took the baton and he was elected President and Russell became his Chief Advisor.
Stephen focused his attention on providing the citizens of Home, with luxury and comfort and Russell challenged his decision and he advised Stephen to make the equipping and development of his army his main priority. Eventually Stephen came around to Russellâs way of thinking.
Stephen was well read and he had an obsessive interest regarding the industrial revolution of the nineteenth century and he began to build foundries, factories and research laboratories on a mass scal
Stephen was a visionary and he commissioned his scientist to build high-speed military aircraft, tanks, rocket launchers, troop carriers and other highly advanced weaponry systems. He then set up a special project to repair, maintain and manufacture a new range of androids and robots. Stephen discovered two fully intact Class A1H androids that had been stored away. Stephen remembered that his Uncle Jason had told him about these types of androids.
A specialised team was set up to find out what the androids design fault was and they discovered that the fault was in their software and in the androids electronic circuitry, which were then rectified. After many test with positive results, the Class A1H androids were mass-produced.
Stephenâs mind was set on the future and he was going to build a war machine that was so advanced that it would defeat the enemy once and for all and bring about an end to the war.
Meanwhile beneath the radioactive rubble of Babylon 6, many changes had already occurred. General Richmond had had died of old age and his genetically modified cloned son named Victor was now in command. Victor had been born artificially inside a science laboratory and he was a product of General Richmond DNA.
Victor was a tall strong muscular man with a violent temper and he was far more ruthless than his father ever was. Just like his father he ruled with fear, but he had far less grace and tolerance and he was an out and out bully who was into cannibalism.
Although highly intelligent, Victor was completely insane and this was due to a genetic defect inherited from his fatherâs DNA and his abnormal loveless childhood was also to blame. Victor was a freak but he also was a scientific breakthrough like Dolly the sheep! One of his eyes was blue and the other was brown and he and he had a strange formidable, mystical energy in his aura which everybody feared as they knew that he was a psychic and probably demon possessed.
Although General Richmond was ruthless he had considered himself to be too merciful. The deceased General had been raised up with the old school values of an officer and a gentleman of which he considered to be one of his main strengths and weaknesses, especially in the event of war.
General Richmond had made sure that his son did not go down the same path. Despite having a deranged mind, Victor was also a highly intelligent visionary with the sole aim to win the war outright and to take no prisoners.
